The Shearwater amphibian project is underway. The capital required to complete the full sized prototype and commence building kits will be in place by the end of January 2009. Progress The 25% scale model has completed the first phase of the water trials with most impressive results. A video is available here There is R and D to complete as we work to incorporate some excellent enhancements. The model will then do the full flight trials aiming to complete them by the end of March. Work on the full size prototype is programmed to start at about the same time. All going to plan, the first kits will be available in the middle of 2010. Offer The price for the kit has been set at US$99,500. There is great financial uncertainty in the world at the moment and there is no way that we can guarantee to hold this price into the future. However, we have decided to guarantee it for the first four kits.
