Overview

Seaplanes are plagued with drag. This comes from the floats or the boat hull shape of the fuselage.

The Shearwater’s design brilliantly solves these problems.
Hull drag is eliminated by using a retractable hydroski to takeoff and land.
The fuselage is a perfect aerodynamic shape.
The thrust line is low eliminating induced drag.
