  • Overview

Seaplanes are plagued with drag. This comes from the floats, or the boat hull shape of the fuselage and induced drag from a high thrust line.

The Shearwater’s design solves all these problems.
Hull drag is eliminated by using a retractable hydroski to takeoff and land.
The fuselage is a perfect aerodynamic shape.
The thrust line is low eliminating induced drag.
